Product Highlights

Economical Copper Distribution

NYY is a widely used 0.6/1 kV copper power cable with PVC insulation and sheath. It suits fixed feeders and service connections where a robust, conventional PVC construction is appropriate, giving projects a straightforward choice for industrial, commercial and infrastructure distribution without the cost of a specialised halogen-free cable family.

Versatile Installation Routes

NYY can be used across a broad range of fixed installation environments, including indoor and outdoor routes, ducts and underground sections where the installation design provides the required mechanical protection. Its UV-stabilised PVC sheath supports exposed use, while the same cable family can continue through buried or concrete routes. This reduces the need to change cable type simply because one feeder passes through several installation zones.

J/O Earthing Options

NYY-J includes a green/yellow protective conductor; NYY-O does not. That choice changes the core arrangement and the way the circuit’s protective path is provided, so it is best made together with conductor size, gland selection and terminal layout. The result is a feeder that arrives on site already aligned with the earthing concept rather than requiring a separate protective conductor to be added later.

Can you check an equivalent cable from another manufacturer?

Yes. Send the exact cable designation and, where possible, the existing datasheet or project specification. We compare conductor material, construction, voltage rating, standards and the requirements that affect the installation before confirming whether an equivalent can be offered.

What if the required size, core count or construction is not shown on the website?

Send the exact requirement. The website does not represent every possible production combination. We will check whether the construction can be supplied and whether the required standards or certification scope also cover that version before it is quoted.

Can LV and MV cables be supplied in the drum lengths shown in our cable schedule?

Requested drum lengths can be reviewed with the cable schedule. What is practical depends on cable dimensions and weight, total quantity, drum capacity and transport or site-handling limits, so the required lengths should be included with the enquiry.

Is there one MOQ for all HORNOUR cable products?

No single MOQ applies across the entire range. The practical quantity depends on the cable type, size, construction, packing and production conditions. Send the actual cable list and quantities and we can confirm the applicable requirement for those items.
