ZC-YJV63 1.8/3 kV Armoured Power Cable

ZC-YJV63 combines a Class 2 copper conductor, XLPE insulation, non-magnetic stainless-steel tape armour and a PVC outer sheath. The ZC prefix specifies Category C flame-retardant performance, while the 63 construction provides non-magnetic tape armour and a PVC sheath for fixed outdoor, buried and mechanically exposed routes.

Product Highlights

Non-Magnetic Stainless-Steel Armour

YJV63 uses non-magnetic metallic tape armour; for the HORNOUR construction this is specified as stainless-steel tape. In a single-core AC circuit this is materially different from conventional galvanized steel tape because the non-magnetic armour avoids the magnetic-loss issue associated with ferromagnetic armour around one phase conductor.

Mechanical Protection for Buried Routes

The stainless-steel tape layer provides radial mechanical protection around the XLPE-insulated core, while the PE outer sheath supports moisture-resistant outdoor and buried installation. The final burial method still needs to follow the project requirements for depth, bedding, warning protection and local mechanical risk.

ZC Fire Requirement Is Part of the Order

The ZC prefix is not just a material description. It identifies Category C flame-retardant performance and therefore has to be supported by the exact finished-cable test scope. The armour, sheath and flame-retardant requirement should be confirmed together rather than inferred from a similar non-ZC cable.

1.8/3 kV Single-Core Feeders

The 1.8/3(3.6) kV voltage class provides a practical platform for large single-core copper feeders such as 240 mm² where the project needs more than a conventional 0.6/1 kV cable but does not require a screened 6/10 kV medium-voltage construction.

Application Areas

Designed for Industrial 3 kV distribution, Commercial and utility PV infrastructure, Direct-burial power routes and Mechanically protected outdoor feeders.

Can you check an equivalent cable from another manufacturer?

Yes. Send the exact cable designation and, where possible, the existing datasheet or project specification. We compare conductor material, construction, voltage rating, standards and the requirements that affect the installation before confirming whether an equivalent can be offered.

What if the required size, core count or construction is not shown on the website?

Send the exact requirement. The website does not represent every possible production combination. We will check whether the construction can be supplied and whether the required standards or certification scope also cover that version before it is quoted.

Can LV and MV cables be supplied in the drum lengths shown in our cable schedule?

Requested drum lengths can be reviewed with the cable schedule. What is practical depends on cable dimensions and weight, total quantity, drum capacity and transport or site-handling limits, so the required lengths should be included with the enquiry.
